MOTHER SON PROGRAM
Weekend camp for boys 10 years of age or older
This weekend is created for boys 10 years of age or older, together with their mothers (or other form of female supervision).
Mothers play a huge role in the lives of boys that are growing up. Once the boys make their transition to high school and into their teenage years their relationship will (have to) change.
During this weekend we will create a life changing and unforgettable experience for boys with their mothers (or other female caretaker). We will spend time together in a beautiful place surrounded by nature, making fire, sharing our stories and connecting with other women and boys in community. It will be a journey to deepen the special bond between the two of you and prepare both of you for the time coming up ahead.
For mothers to become aware that they can let go of the ‘little boy’, to understand what they need from each other during this phase in life and how they want to parent their son into young adulthood.
For boys to walk their own path and gain confidence, to be honored for their unique gifts and talents and to learn respecting the masculine and the feminine elements in their lives.
This weekend will be organized in collaboration with Agnes Eising from Wilde-bloem.nl
Our next weekend is planned 15-16 of June 2024
Location: Gennep, Netherlands
Costs: 444 euro
The costs are per couple and include the full 2 day program, accommodation, delicious healthy food and an experience you both will never forget. You have to bring your own tent and sleeping gear, or it’s possible to rent these from us.
One of the mothers said after previous program:
‘What a fantastic weekend this was for both of us! I have never experienced such a safe bed during a group activity as this weekend. Really fantastic your cooperation and how you set up a space in which we felt comfortable and could be completely ourselves.
I felt there was a perfect balance between spending time with my son and spending time apart experiencing things separately. So valuable to spend time together as mothers, to get to know other boys and that the boys spend time together with the men who are a great example to them. The whole weekend is very experiential and because of that we were really detached from our normal world, present in the here and now. From start to finish I was touched with deep gratitude.
I am so happy that my son was able to experience this, it feels very valuable for his further development. And for mine, because I have learned a lot myself and I feel inspired to integrate some new things at home in guiding my son. It was very valuable that some older boys were also present, so that I could see where my son is growing towards and what challenges that can present for me as a mother. The mother circles were a nice deepening to exchange experiences. Added to this is the amazingly beautiful place in nature with a nice energy and delicious healthy food! In short, a fantastic experience that has brought us so much and that we will remember for a long time.
When we were driving home we both said: next year again!’
